Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism takes the saying, "Clothes make the man" and pokes fun at our contemporary obsession with the clothes worn at Award shows.  The original says that what we wear "makes"  us; suggesting that we are given opportunity or barred from them based on how our clothing is received by onlookers.  In the Lindism, I'm pointing out that same truth as it relates to Award shows.

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism is a riff on "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."  The original cautions that the "old dog" can't learn new ways.  In my twist, I'm toying with this past summer's trend of people doing their Youtube version of a dance/song called "Whip Nae Nae."  Some people went so far as to try to get their pets in on the trend.

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism is built from "Beggars can't be choosers" which is to say that if a person asks for something, the giver gets to decide what's given.  It's not for the "beggar" to choose.  In my twist, I cite a popular criteria we use to determine if we're going to give.  "If a beggar looks like he's going to spend on drinking or drugging, I don't want to support that", we'll say.

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism toys with the saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," which is to say that a small amount of precaution can prevent having to use a great amount of cure.  In my twist, I play with the idea that preventing overeating could mean weighing a pound less at Weight Watchers.

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindsim plays on the expression, "Once bitten twice shy" which is to say that if you have a bad experience with someone or something you'll shy away from it a second time.  In my twist, I'm supposing that something that "bites" you the first time should have kept you from acting a second time but it didn't and now one asks "why?"

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism plays on the expression, "Truth is stranger than fiction."  The original says that what's true can be more fantastically unbelievable than what's made up.  In my twist, I point out that telling the truth takes more bravery at times than making up something.

Weekday Lindism

Today's Lindism builds on the expression, "A man with a hammer sees every problem as a nail."  The Lindism plays with the idea that a man sometimes wants to build things with his hammer when an opportunity presents itself as if he was on a home makeover show.
